Weddings
Empire Mine State Historical grounds are available by reservation for weddings from mid-April to mid-October on Friday, Saturday and Sundays. Reservations can be made beginning on April 15 for dates in advance of the following year's wedding season.Priority for high demand Saturdays will be given to those requesting both a Ceremony and a Reception.
Special Events take place after Park closing, which is currently 5:00PM.The historic gardens and grounds are available for your ceremony for two hours.All activities are outdoors with no guarantee as to weather. Maximum group size is 200 quests. The fee for a ceremony only is $1000 which will include staff set-up and take down of white chairs. Wedding parties may bring in musicians, florists and other wedding enhancements by arrangement.
Changing facilities are available for the bride and bridesmaid. Photographs can be taken prior to your wedding during normal public park hours, or after the service. Parking is available in the main parking lot, and quests will access the wedding site by walking through the grounds on gravel pathways. Park staff provides a motorized shuttle for the elderly, disabled or other guests needing assistance moving through the Park to the wedding site.
Receptions may be hosted at the Clubhouse patio for an additional $2000. We provide Park Aides to monitor the event, round tables, chairs, limited kitchen facilities and electrical power. The wedding party is responsible for hiring a professional caterer and the set-up and clean-up after the event.Closing time will be 12:00AM.Special Events serving alcohol will be charged an additional fee of $375 to cover the cost of a State Park Monitor.Beer and wine only are allowed to be served on the premises.
Please e-mail us (using the "E-mail Us" option on the index) or phone the Visitor Center ( 530-273-8522) to check on the availability of your preferred date. You may tentatively reserve a date for 30 days. After that time, we ask that you make an appointment with the Special Event Coordinator to sign your permit.At that time we also request non-refundable deposit that will hold your date as confirmed.
