Weddings
The Gardens & Grounds at the Empire Mine State Historical
Park are available by reservation for weddings from April 15th through September 30th on Friday, Saturday and Sundays only. Other dates and days are considered on an exception basis. Reservations can be made a year in advance fot the next wedding season.
The Cottage Site
Weddings take place after Park hours which vary seasonally. Weddings can be booked between 5:00PM and 7:00PM. All ceremonies are outdoors and there is no guarantee as to weather. The maximum group size is 200 persons. Wedding special event fees are currently $1000 and include the set-up and take down of white chairs. Wedding parties may bring in musicians, florists and other wedding enhancements by arrangement.
The park staff has pre-selected 10 wedding sites that will accommodate various size wedding parties.
Changing facilities are available for the bride and bridesmaids up to four hours prior to the wedding.
The Brides Changing Room
The groom and groomsmen may use the restroom in the main parking lot. Wedding photographs can be taken at any time prior to your wedding during public park hours.Guest parking is available in the main parking lot only, and guests must access the wedding site by walking through the grounds on gravel roads / paths. The park staff provides a motorized shuttle for the elderly, disabled or other guests needing assistance moving through the Park to the wedding site.
The Reflection Pool Site
Receptions are also hosted here on the Clubhouse patio for an additional $2000. We provide staff to monitor the event, tables, chairs, limited kitchen facilities and electrical power. The wedding party is responsible for hiring a professional caterer and the set-up and clean-up after the event.
The Reception Area.
If you are interested in booking a wedding, please visit and ask for a map of the wedding sites. If you like what you see and you have a date in mind ask our Visitor Center staff about availability . If your date is available, we suggest that you tentatively reserve the date in your name. Note: you must contact the Park ( phone 530-273-8522) within 30 days to confirm the date or the date will be released. Finally,arrange an appointment with the park staff to sign a contract. A $500 non-refundable deposit for a wedding & reception and $250 for a wedding is required at that time to hold your date as confirmed.
