Empire Mine State Park’s historic grounds are rich in breathtaking beauty and rock-solid history. That’s why so many couples choose to begin their married life here, surrounded by fountains, vintage gardens and stately trees on our well-tended grounds.
Early planning and a little luck are the key.
Reserved wedding dates range from May 1 to the first weekend in October on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. We begin taking reservations on April 15 for the following year’s wedding season. You may have a ceremony only or a ceremony and reception. Since Saturdays are in high demand, priority will be given to those requesting BOTH the ceremony and reception option.
- Changing facilities for the bride and bridesmaids
- Seating for up to 200 guests on white fan chairs
- Ceremony chair set-up and take-down
- Delivery of bride to the wedding site
- Shuttle for guests with disabilities
- Exclusive use of selected Park areas after 5:00 p.m. & use of grounds for photos
- Parking in main parking lot
- Rehearsal on site for one hour the day before the event
Arrangements for caterers, rentals, flowers, music and other enhancements are made privately by the wedding organizers. Photographs may be taken before the wedding as early as 3:00 p.m. or after the service.

You may tentatively reserve a date for 30 days; then make an appointment with our Special Events Coordinator to sign your permit and pay a non-refundable deposit that will secure your date. The fee for reserving only a ceremony is $250, and $500 for ceremony and reception.
2018 dates no longer available – next lottery will be for 2019 dates
The wedding requests we receive are greater than the dates available. In order to determine who will get which dates, we conduct a random lottery. If you want to be considered for a wedding date in 2019, you must complete the lottery form that is currently being revised, and will not available until early in 2018. Once completed, it must be submitted to the Special Events Office by (time and date to be announced). Names will be drawn in September 2018 (exact date to be announced, as well). PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE PARK OFFICE AFTER YOU SUBMIT YOUR FORM. We will notify everyone in the order in which names are drawn.
