A long standing tradition of a Miners' Picnic has been continued by the Empire Mine Park Association. The picnic was originally held annually and benefitted the widows and orphans of the miners. Now it is held for the benefit of all the park visitors. In 2014, it will be held on August 23th from 11:00AM to 4:00PM.

Highlights include:
  • All day entertainment

  • Food & beverages ( available for purchase )
  • Games and entertainment for the children
  • Gold panning
  • Cake walks
  • Antique automobiles

  • Equipment exhibits / demonstrations
  • Silent Auction ( in lieu of a raffle )

In addition, our living history volunteers dressed in 1905 period costumes are at the cottage, in the mineyard and intermingling with the picnic'rs.
